We took it easy today and explored our little village and the one over. There is a windmill for grinding flour 80 feet from our accommodation, they run it on Saturdays. Reg climbed up on the platform learned the history and saw how it worked, I stayed down (it was a straight up ladder) and had a really nice visit with one of the volunteers.

Reg talked to a guy that biked in 25 km to get freshly ground flour to bake bread. The bicycle’s shell is made of fibreglass and only weighs 25 km. It is called a velomobiles.

We drove to the next town over and saw beautiful houses with dikes in front and little bridge s for their cars. Everything is starting to bloom.Neither one of us paid attention to all the turns we were taking and with the canals causing us to take a few jigs in the road we effectively got lost. Thank goodness for google maps or we would still be driving in circles.

Today’s cheese is a herb and parsley, we both agree yesterday’s is still the winner even though we have no idea what’s in it. Tomorrow we are going to check out how the windmills are used to keep the water at bay which is a feat considering most of the Netherlands is below sea level and then drive to Delft to the china factory to see how the famous blue and white pottery is created.
