Today took us to The Tulip Experience west of Amsterdam. First you start in the museum which tells the story of the tulip bulb. The tulip got its name from the word turban as they first were found in Kazakhstan. At the height of the tulip crazy a single bulb could cost as much as a house. Due to world events the price of tulips plummeted, there was a shortage of food at the time so the poorest of the population were given tulip bulbs to eat.
The Tulip Experience had rows and rows of tulips and daffodils. There are pathways and cute little spots to get pictures amongst the tulips.

Once you are done with the fields you can head inside for a little break at their cafe. They had a few tulip treats to try. We chose to have the tulip lemonade and the tulip pastry that looked so pretty it had tulip jam inside the creamy tulip.

On your way out you get to each pick 5 tulips to take home.

on our way back we stopped and took a few pictures of the hyacinth fields.

After a quick lunch we headed back to the pedestrian market that we drove through yesterday. We managed to get parked and walked this time. We are however are waiting to see if we get a ticket when we drop the car off as they have a camera that takes a picture of your car if you enter. Hopefully they will chalk it up to stupid tourists. 💁
