The Van Gogh Village Museum is in Nuenen, where he spent two years and created a bulk of his artwork.we spent a couple hours touring the museum learning about his life and how his artwork evolved. The subjects that he focused most on in Nuenen were the peasant, the farmers and the weavers.

We strolled around town and saw the church that inspired the paining he did for his mother. It was the church that his father was the pastor of.

In the same park as his statue is one depicting his painting The Potato Eaters.

We also walked past the weaver’s cottage that Van Gogh spent time in scratching the family that lived and worked there.

On our way back we stopped at a greenhouse that is like a giant ikea except it is full of plants, pet supplies, garden supplies and home decor.

All I can say is Kyla and my bank account are breathing a sigh of relief that there isn’t one in Alberta.
