Today’s venture took us to Strand street, the home of Twinning’s tea. They have been in this location since they opened over 300 years ago. We took a 2 hour master tea class, learned the history of tea, how to brew each type and how each type is picked and processed. It was so informative and interesting, we enjoyed it so much.

The store is very long and narrow because the founder of Twining’s tea bought an original coffee house however the door opened on the poor side of the street. Tea was so expensive that only the very wealthy could afford it so he bought 2 more buildings , tunnelled through the walls so that he could have his front door opening in the wealthy neighborhood. I may have went a little overboard buying tea today but it was so hard to choose.

We walked around the area. The tea shop is right across from The Royal Court of Justice .

The Old Bank of England has been converted into a restaurant but the have displays of the banks history.

Saw these chips in a little shop and thought we’d give them a try. They actually do taste like roasted pork and apple sauce. 💁
