Took the train into Dublin for the day. We walked around Trinity College, it is such a beautiful campus with all the old ornate buildings and well tended gardens. Met up with Callie’s (Jayden girlfriend) great uncle, Peter. Thanks in part to Peter for keeping everything clean and beautiful. Had a wonderful chat before we headed out to find lunch.

After lunch we went to a master class to learn the history and how to make an authentic Irish Coffee. Reg managed to drink it even though it was made with coffee. You have to shake the cream to slightly thicken it and pour it over a back of spoon which keeps the cream on top of the coffee.Irish coffee is ment to be slightly sweet however the sugar also dissipates the alcohol taste of the whiskey. The picture of the whiskey was the whiskey first used to make an Irish Coffee. It has a slight oil to it that is a result of grains being added to it in addition to the malt. This also helps to suspend the cream creating the two tone effect.

We went to the Book of Kells at Trinity college. Amazing how something so old managed to survive wars, aging and religious conflict. I was very intrigued by how they managed to make paints that survived the test of time.

One of the oldest harps around located in the old library.

Picked up subway for supper and headed back to Banbridge on the bus. Tomorrow we head to the Game of Thrones studio tour and then watch a parade and meet family in the evening.
