We boarded the ferry in Doolin, it was a grey, cold morning. It is just under an hour ferry ride to Inis Mor, it is the largest and furthest away of the 3 islands. Once we got to the island it started to rain, we made a bee line for the sweater shop. Took a while but we found all 6 of us sweaters and the store is shipping them home to us. I guess we will have to pay duty on them. Seems insane that I could carry them in our suitcase and be under the spending limit but if you ship them you have to pay duty.

It was still raining when we finished at the sweater shop so we went and had a small snack and a hot drink. The rain let up to a small drizzle so we walked around town, enjoying the island. We didn’t go see any of the attractions that were out of town. You could have taken a hop on and off tour or a horse drawn wagon tour but they were pricey and similar to things we have already done.

We stayed on the ferry after it docked as we were going on the Cliffs of Moher tour. We got to see the cliff from the ocean which gives you way more appreciation to their enormous height ( 700+ feet), see the sea birds that call them home and all the caves. One of the caves were used in the film Harry Potter. It was definitely worth seeing the cliffs from both the top and the seaside.
We headed back to the mainland with some island fudge to have another meal at McDermotts pub. I had planned on trying the Irish stew but the cottage pie was so delicious we decided just to get that again.

The drive home was beautiful however you play a game of miss the potholes , this is the road that killed our tire. A section is called corkscrew hill and that adds an extra challenge going around a tight corner, staying out of the way of oncoming traffic and avoiding the potholes.
