Headed north to the town of Edam, first stop was The Story of Edam Cheese. We parked in a spot by a little farmers market, Reg asked a vendor if we could park there as it was very confusing and crowded. She was so nice and lent us her pass so we could go to the museum. Reg ordered deep fried shrimp from her stand as a thank you. He enjoyed them very much.

We toured the museum and learned to keep the cheese ball round the farmer has to flip each one everyday for a total of 3 months plus depending how long the cheese was aged for. We got to try over 15 types of cheese, a variety of mustards and sauces. We really did try not to buy any more cheese but we are weak and came back with a couple more.

Reg tried to best the record of 227 for the fastest milking hands. Close but not quite.

We walked along the canal visiting cute little shops on the way. Unfortunately it is too early in the season for canal tours.

In the town square they have one of the original cheese weighing scale and a statue of how the cheese got carried to the weighing station from the canal.

We ended the day with a little wine and cheese .Tomorrow is sampling Gouda in Gouda.
